ODESZA was everything their dynamic songs are last Friday night – energetic, balanced, and impossible not to dance to.

The only thing to say was bad about their show was that it was simply too short. As they began their set to much anticipation, they spoke about the first time they played at Canopy Club with Emancipators. The duo, Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, were joined by openers Big Wild and Little People, both easing the crowd into an electronic symphony.

Once ODESZA arrived, along with their mesmerizing lights and video show, the crowd became one with the beat. Mills and Knight worked seamlessly together, playing a majority of songs from In Return, their album most recently released in November last year, along with crowd favorites “Sun Models,” and “My Friends Never Die.”

The band again descended on Canopy Club one last time for an encore, with “Say My Name,” leaving Champaign-Urbana with a dance party they won’t forget.
