It’s no surprise that Jane Addams, located in downtown Champaign, is the winner for best bookstore. The store is no stranger to CU, having won last year and in years past.

The shop has been locally and independently owned and operated since 1984, with an extensive collection of over 70,000 titles and hundreds of different genres. While they don’t specialize in any particular type of book, you’re bound to find what you need with three floors and fifteen rooms of books they offer.

There are so many books that they even have a map to help you navigate the collection. Looking for fantasy or science fiction? Head to the third floor and take a look around. What about art and philosophy? You can find that right on the main floor.

Jane Addams is the go-to place for students and locals alike. If you head there on a mission to find one book, don’t be shocked if you leave with three or four in your hands. That’s the power of Jane Addams—you want to browse the store and search every floor. It’s no surprise that you’ll manage to find some intriguing titles along the way.

They also happen to sell other goodies like planners and postcards, so if books aren’t your thing, you can still find plenty to see at Jane Addams.

Whether you’re just looking to browse or you’re on a mission to find a book, Jane Addams is the place to be. You might even find your next favorite read as you navigate and browse the shelves.
